When we covered the dates on July 1, the takeaway was simple: it’s the next big event window, but an Ananta appearance is not on the books. That’s still true as of today, July 10. What’s changed is the timing — we’re now close enough that, if Ananta were coming, we’d normally start to see the first signs.

So instead of re-litigating whether it’s confirmed (it isn’t), here’s a practical guide to watching the run-up.

What a real Ananta appearance would look like

Big shows telegraph their lineups before the doors open. If Ananta is heading to ChinaJoy, the tells usually arrive in roughly this order:

  • An official exhibitor listing — NetEase or Naked Rain named on the ChinaJoy exhibitor roster, or an official booth teaser.
  • A dated announcement from the studio — a post on Ananta’s official channels saying “see us at ChinaJoy,” typically with a time.
  • A pre-show trailer or livestream schedule — publishers rarely bring a game to a show this size without a scheduled moment for it.

None of those exist right now. Until at least the first one does, “Ananta at ChinaJoy” remains a fan hope, not a plan.

Signal vs. noise: how to read the next three weeks

The closer we get, the louder the rumor mill runs. A few filters that help:

  • Any new characters beyond the confirmed roster
