We’re now about three weeks out from ChinaJoy 2026 (July 31 – August 3, Shanghai New International Expo Center). When we covered the dates on July 1, the takeaway was simple: it’s the next big event window, but an Ananta appearance is not on the books. That’s still true as of today, July 10. What’s changed is the timing — we’re now close enough that, if Ananta were coming, we’d normally start to see the first signs.
So instead of re-litigating whether it’s confirmed (it isn’t), here’s a practical guide to watching the run-up.
What a real Ananta appearance would look like
Big shows telegraph their lineups before the doors open. If Ananta is heading to ChinaJoy, the tells usually arrive in roughly this order:
- An official exhibitor listing — NetEase or Naked Rain named on the ChinaJoy exhibitor roster, or an official booth teaser.
- A dated announcement from the studio — a post on Ananta’s official channels saying “see us at ChinaJoy,” typically with a time.
- A pre-show trailer or livestream schedule — publishers rarely bring a game to a show this size without a scheduled moment for it.
None of those exist right now. Until at least the first one does, “Ananta at ChinaJoy” remains a fan hope, not a plan.
Signal vs. noise: how to read the next three weeks
The closer we get, the louder the rumor mill runs. A few filters that help:
- A dated show is a window, not a booking. ChinaJoy having dates says nothing about who’s exhibiting. This is the single most common conflation.
- Aggregator “release dates” are not sources. Some countdown sites are already displaying specific 2026 launch dates for Ananta. None trace back to NetEase or Naked Rain. Treat any hard date without an official link as a placeholder, not news.
- “Natural fit” isn’t a confirmation. Ananta is a Chinese-developed title and ChinaJoy is a marquee Chinese show — that’s why the pairing keeps coming up in discussion, and also why it’s easy to mistake plausibility for fact.
- Check for a primary source. If a claim can’t be traced to an official Ananta channel or the ChinaJoy organizers, it’s a rumor — no matter how many times it’s reposted.
What fans actually want to see (if it does show)
For the record, none of the following are announced or predicted — they’re the community’s wishlist, in rough order of demand:
- A global release date or launch window
- A fresh gameplay trailer
- Any new characters beyond the confirmed roster
- News on the next test phase — worth stressing: no dates for one have been officially given, so anything you see claiming a specific test window is unverified until Naked Rain says so.
