If you’ve compared Ananta character lists across fan sites, you’ve noticed they don’t agree. Some list 11 or more characters. Our character roster lists 9.

That isn’t an oversight, and the other lists aren’t simply wrong. The gap has a specific cause, and it’s worth understanding before you trust any Ananta roster.

What happened

Four characters — Alan, Bansy, Dila and Mechanika — had bios published on Ananta’s official website. Those bios were removed on September 23, 2025, around the time of the Tokyo Game Show 2025 reveal, and have not returned.

So these are not leaks or fan inventions. They were official, and then they weren’t.

Nobody outside Naked Rain knows why. The plausible readings — a story revision, a roster change, a staged re-reveal, or simply a website rebuild — are all guesses. The studio has not commented.

Our rule for this site

We keep a character on the main roster only while its information is currently official. Bios that were pulled go here instead, with the date they were pulled and what they said at the time.

That means our roster is shorter than most. It also means nothing on it is a character the developer has quietly walked back.

The four removed bios

What follows is what the official site said before September 23, 2025. Treat all of it as historical, not current. No rarity, combat role, element or release information has ever been officially published for any of them.

Alan

Described as a friendly, handsome young man from an influential family who moonlights as a model and keeps up with his studies. Coverage from the period noted he appeared to fight with a yo-yo, with snowflake effects visible during his attacks.

The snowflake detail gets cited as proof of an ice element. There is no announced element system in Ananta. A visual effect in a trailer is a visual effect.

Bansy

A pink-haired street artist, described as being as destructive as she is creative. Reported to wield a gun that fires laser-like projectiles and leaves paint behind where it hits.

Dila

Described as investigating a meteor disaster in the game’s urban setting, and as being able to control meteors herself. Fandom’s wiki still lists her role as an investigator of the meteor disaster in Nova Inception Urbs.

Worth flagging: the story premise appears to have shifted between the early Project Mugen material and the 2025 Ananta reveal, so even the historical description may no longer describe the character as she now exists.

Mechanika

Also referred to as Meg. Described as a “ghost worker” able to bring machines to life, known for staging concerts with them. Fandom lists her as a worker at Shorewater Industries. Her stated favourite food was French fries.

Other names you’ll see

Mimiko — referenced in Ananta’s official English social posts (a “MIMIKO livestream” in a January 2025 in-world promotion). So the name is official and in-world. Whether Mimiko is playable has never been stated.

Garm — a character appearing in Tokyo Game Show demo material. Fans originally circulated the name “Jiam” from a trademark filing before the demo showed a different transliteration. This is community reconstruction from demo footage, not an official character page. Treat it as the weakest item on this page.

How to read any Ananta character list

A quick test for any roster you find, including ours:

Does it give star ratings or rarity? Ananta has never published a rarity system. A list with star ratings is inventing them.
Does it assign combat roles or elements? Same. No official role taxonomy or element system exists.
Does it rank characters? A tier list for an unreleased game with no published stats is entertainment, not information.
Does it say when a claim was sourced? The Alan/Bansy/Dila/Mechanika situation is exactly why dates matter. A list without them can’t tell you whether it’s current.

The confirmed roster

Nine characters currently have official standing:

Captain (protagonist), Richie, Seymour, Taffy, Lykaia, Aileen, Ringo, Shiye, Yinglong.

Shiye (时夜) and Yinglong (璎珑) are the newest, added here on August 27, 2026. Both carry full profiles in the character line-up on NetEase’s Chinese official site and both appear in the Launch Date Trailer key art of August 25, 2026. Note that NetEase’s English site does not publish character profiles at all, so the English-language material on these two is ours, not theirs — see their pages for exactly what is sourced and what is not.

All are unlocked through story progression — Ananta has no character gacha. See the full roster with portraits.

One thing to know before you compare this list against the official site: the character line-up on NetEase’s official site is not the whole roster. As of August 27, 2026 it carries six profiles — Captain, Shiye, Taffy, Richie, Yinglong and Seymour. Lykaia, Aileen and Ringo are not among them, and that is not a removal: those three were confirmed through official art posted on Ananta’s social channels rather than through a site profile. Different surface, same first party. A name missing from the site line-up is not evidence against it, which is why every entry on this page is dated and attributed to a specific source.

If any of the removed four return to official channels, they move to the main roster and this page records the date.
