Summer Game Fest 2026 ran from June 5 to June 8, and Ananta was not shown — not at the main showcase, and not at any of the surrounding events. No trailer, no release date, no beta announcement. NetEase made zero Ananta noise during the entire window.

Was Ananta ever confirmed for SGF 2026?
No — and that’s worth being clear about. Ananta was never officially announced for Summer Game Fest 2026. The anticipation was community-driven: SGF is the biggest June showcase of the year, and Ananta is one of the most-watched unreleased titles, so fans naturally hoped the two would line up. Hope is not a lineup slot.
So while the no-show was a letdown, it wasn’t a broken promise. There was no promise to break.
Does this change anything about the release date?
Not really. As of now there’s still no official release date for Ananta — Naked Rain has pointed to a 2026 window without committing to a day. SGF passing without news doesn’t move that timeline in either direction; it just means the reveal, whenever it comes, will land somewhere else.
Where’s the next window?
Attention shifts to the three remaining 2026 shows:
- ChinaJoy 2026 — July 31 – August 3 in Shanghai. The nearest window, and a natural fit for a Chinese-developed title — though an Ananta appearance is not confirmed.
- Gamescom 2026 — August 26–30 in Cologne. The venue where the game was first announced in 2023 as Project Mugen, which makes it the most symbolically loaded window on the calendar.
- Tokyo Game Show 2026 — September 17–21 at Makuhari Messe. Ananta was playable at TGS 2025, which makes it a historically relevant venue — but past attendance doesn’t guarantee a return.
None of the three has a confirmed Ananta booking. We’re tracking all of them.
Update, July 2026: the drought broke, slightly. Ananta made its first physical appearance in months at Bilibili World on July 10–13 — a wrapped Porsche and a partner-booth screening of re-edited footage. Still no date, but it establishes that Ananta can turn up at a show without being a named exhibitor, which is worth remembering every time a lineup gets published without it.
Update, August 7, 2026: one of the three is now resolved. ChinaJoy closed on August 3 with no Ananta showing found — not on the NetEase booth, not on the PlayStation booth, and not on any partner’s screen. That is the second 2026 show window to pass, and it makes this post’s core argument sharper rather than weaker: an absence keeps meaning less than people want it to, right up until the pattern is that there is nothing to show yet.
The nearest dated thing since is not a games show at all: NetEase’s Q2 2026 earnings call on August 20, 8:00 a.m. ET, announced August 6. The May 21 Q1 call produced the only substantive official comment on Ananta all year, and this is the next scheduled occasion on which management takes questions on the record.
